We rented a Ford Fusion from the airport Budget. Towards the end of our trip the AC went out in the car. The same day we came to this Budget at 3:45PM as they close at 4PM so they were still open. We went in and Charlene was working there and just told us to come back the next morning with little explanation why besides that they have no cars even though they had some right out front. We didn't care about the car getting clean, we just wanted a car with AC. It seemed to me like she didn't want to work. Rusty confirmed then that the AC was in fact blowing hot air instead of cold. Rusty also let us know that there was mechanical recall on the Fusion. We went back the next morning and Charlene could hardly remember who we were. She did however end up getting us a new car. The gas tank was left empty. We would have normally filled it up upon return to the airport Budget but the inconvenience of the AC going out caused us a hassle as we had to go back to this Budget 3 times. I asked Charlene about the gas and we went back and forth about what should happen with it and I asked about due to the AC going out is there something they can accommodate us with. She eventually went out to the car, came back into the office seemingly angry and didn't say a word to us. She type in a bunch of information into the computer and told us the gas would be taken care of. Had me sign a new contract. I tried to ask questions about it and she simply said, "3 initials and a signature". My dad returned the car the next day to the airport budget as he was flying home and he found out they were going to charge us for the gas. He had to get hassled and after much deliberation they eventually took the charge off. Very poor customer service from Charlene when the car we got was not up to par by breaking down.
Not the most amazing customer service. Office is very small and hidden in the back of the complex. When we arrived the computer was down??
Great rates though. Rented a car for half the price as we were quoted by enterprise at our hotel.
Staff at Budget Rent A Car in Wailea are awesome. The service they provided us was Excellent.

When calling to confirm yesterday, the automated voice said, ‘so you want to cancel?’
Staff were friendly and helpful but the car we rented was in rough shape. We booked a convertible on Expedia and we were given a Camaro SS. Decent car when new, but ours was really beaten up. Tons of bumps and scratches all over the interior and exterior. The seatbelts didn't retract properly and the interior looked like the top had been left down in the rain. The SS model was also overkill. 462HP 6 litre engine was a ridiculous gas guzzler. In hindsight, we wish we had mentioned something right at the beginning but we didn't. We'll be looking to rent elsewhere in the future.
I screamed no but I was canceled on the spot-there are no vehicles over the holiday and I am without resource. Unbelievable!
